The ECE is a vibrant community hub that connects people from the business world with the academic world, and we found that a lot of investors, entrepreneurs, and also business coaches are in the network. By picking the minds of these experienced professionals we have been able to establish quick growth, but also professionalise our company and processes. Because many corporate organisations come to the ECE to take part in the academic program focused on innovation, we were also able to connect with our first corporate clients.

First of all the location is great in terms of accessibility. It is well connected to main roads, trains, and has great parking facilities. Plus the community here is very interesting for us. There are lots of companies (unfortunately not any other e-health companies yet!) but in general the ECE is a great place to meet people and also receive some coaching. By being here we often get introduced to other interesting parties, for example the Innovation Quarter and the Chamber of Commerce. It is a fantastic place for networking and it would be nice to see more e-health companies here.

I often hear new entrepreneurs mentioning “funding” as one key resources to get started. Don’t get me wrong, I was exactly in the same situation no longer than 4 years ago, before Equidam was even a website. To those who asked me, I suggested to think of funding as “fuel” rather than “humanitarian aids”, in other terms, raise to push operations, to keep speeding, not to start moving. While it may not apply to everybody, that’s the kind of mentality you need to convince investors.
